- Ambani who was sacked by Wazito FC at the beginning of the season has rejoined the club as the assistant coach. Also, the former goalkeeper, Elly Otieno is back to the squad.
Wazito FC has engaged several coaches in the management of their club so far. At the commencement of the season, they sacked Fred Ambani and they have now hired him again. Ambani is now back to his former club.
As Elly Otieno who was once the goalkeeper of Wazito FC rejoins the club, Ambani assumes the role of assistant coach.
“We can confirm that coach Fred Ambani and Elias Otieno have returned to the club as a first-team assistant coach and goalkeepers’ trainer respectively. Ambani led the team back to the Kenyan Premier League last season as head coach before exiting in October. He now returns to the team and will deputize head coach Stuart Hall,” read a club statement.
Otieno played an important role in ensuring that the club returns to the KPL last season. This time around, the veteran goalkeeper is tasked with the role of sharpening goalkeepers’ skills and proficiency in the club.
“I want to welcome Ambani and Otieno back to the team. I urge them to give their best for the betterment and success of the team,” CEO Dennis Gicheru said.
Gicheru further stated that both Ambani and Otieno should take their roles immediately and start acting. The two will be on the technical bench today in Narok Stadium as they face Western Stima FC.
With the new signings in the club, we expect to see impressive performances from the team, especially after Otieno and Ambani, have been featured in the technical bench, We hope their efforts on the technical bench bearing fruits for Wazito FC.
