– Edinson Cavani who plays for PSG is wanted by Chelsea manager Frank Lampard
– Cavani’s contract at PSG will expire at the end of the 2019/20 season in Europe
– Chelsea are said to be ready to offer him an 18-month contract for him to move to England
Uruguayan professional football star Edinson Cavani could be on his way to the Premier League to join Chelsea from PSG as the Blues are reportedly ready to offer him an 18-month deal.
Presently, Cavani has a contract at Paris-Saint-Germain until the end of the season, but Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is interested in having him at Stamford Bridge this month.
Chelsea recently had their transfer ban lifted which gives them the chance to sign players in the transfer window.
But Lampard will have to convince Chelsea chiefs to change their policy of not signing players above 30 years if truly he wants to have Cavani.
According to the Times, Paris-Saint-Germain chiefs are ready to sell the Uruguayan this month so as not to lose him from free at the end of the season.
The report added that PSG chiefs want £23 million for his signature, but Chelsea may not want to pay such amount for a player whose contract remains six month.
Spanish side Atletico Madrid are said to have offered PSG £8.5m earlier this week to lure Cavani to Spain but the offer was rejected.
This season in France, Cavani has not enjoyed active playing time for PSG, playing only nine games in Ligue 1.
