- Muyoti said they want to focus on the title and forget what happened during the Sunday match at the Bukhungu Stadium in order to avoid distractions.
Although Homeboyz lost important points during the weekend against Wazito FC in their home stadium, Kakamega Homeboyz has confirmed that they will fight for the Kenyan Premier League title till the end.
The Homeboyz head coach, Muyoti said that they have all that it takes for the Kakamega side to win KPL.
“Against Wazito, we should have won the match easily if it were not for the questionable decisions by the match officials that went against us. It was unbelievable to see our opponents being awarded a soft penalty in added time. For Kenyan soccer to grow, we need to have competent and disciplined match official, who will be fair to all teams,” he said.
“It takes heavy investment, sacrifice and hard work to prepare a team for a single match and for the match officials to come and decide which team should win is quite unfair,” he added.
Muyoti told the Homeboyz fans that they have to forget what has already happened ad focus on the future which is to win the KPL title. He assured the fans that they still have all that is needed to win the KPL title if they avoid distraction that can be caused by the previous results.
I am quite impressed with especially left back Vincent Mahiga whom we signed from Chemelil and striker Justus Anene who has been plying his trade outside the country,” said Muyoti.
Kakamega Homeboyz is currently the second team in the KPL standings with 40 points from 19 matches. They are 4 points adrift of Gor Mahia who have one game in hand.
