Kenyan International Michael Olunga has finally joined Japanese top tier side Kashiwa Reysol from Chinese side Guizhou Zhicheng.

The Harambee stars forward has been in China since his loan deal with Spanish top-tier side Girona lapsed and the club was willing to sell him as they had already filled up their foreign quota.

A number of clubs in Spain notably Real Sociedad were said to be after his signature but now it is alraedy confirmed by the Japanese Club that lanky foward is their new acquistion.

The 24 year old has put pen to paper on a three year deal and will earn a reported Ksh 15 million per month.

Olunga has also been previously linked with Serie A clubs with both Sampdoria and Atlanta showing intrest.

Kashiwa Reysol is currently 13th on the 18-team J1 League with 23 points from 20 matches. They next face 12th-placed Vegalta Sendai on Saturday 11th August at their Sankyo Frontier Stadium in the city of Kashiwa. The facilty has a capacity of 15900.

Olunga has previously played for Thika United, Tusker FC and Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) before moving to Djurgaden IF in Sweden to kick start his professional football career.

Should the deal materialise the Liberty Academy product will be the first in history to grace the Japanese League.
