- Ugandan Premier League (UPL) side Police FC has now proven to be in business and not a joke as they set to unveil yet another new signing, Eric Ssenjobe, as they continue beefing up for the 2020/21 season.
It is understood that the 21-year-old KCCA FC left-back has been a long-term target for Coach Abdallah Mubiru and the youngster has reportedly signed with the Law Enforcers and will unveil on Friday.
“The club is looking forward to making a number of recruitments ahead of the new season and the next addition will be Eric (Ssenjobe) from KCCA,” reports claimed.
“He will be unveiled (on Friday) at the Police headquarters in Naguru and will be handed a two-year deal.”
Meanwhile, Police FC chairman Asan Kasingye has revealed new signing Tony Mawejje is like a son to him. The midfielder rejoined the Law Enforcers after more than a decade away and set to help the club in the 2020/21 season.
“(Mawejje) is my son because we’ve come a long way from back in 2006 when he scored the winning goal for us to win the Cecafa regional gong,” Kasingye said.
“Since then we have been moving on together and I’ve advised him on a number of issues simply because he’s a professional player who acts with humility and in every profession that’s key for anyone to succeed.
“Even when he left the club for URA it was on good terms, because of the relationship we share, he told me that he was leaving and I told him its okay, move on to another level,” he added.
“And when he went professional, we were always in touch so that’s how tight Mawejje and I are; and I am glad that he’s back with us,” he stated.
The administrator has further revealed he has been in constant communication with the player even after he left the team in 2007.
The law enforcers have so far confirmed two new signings and fans will be delighted to see more signings as the club seek to bolster their squad for 2020/21 season.
