Zimbabwe jet in ahead of Saturday Gold Cup clash
A 30 man Zimbabwe contingent arrived in Nairobi on Wednesday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s Rugby Africa Gold Cup clash against hosts Kenya at the RFUEA Ground. The squad comprises 25 players and 5 officials led by former South Africa Coach Peter de Villiers.
The team will conduct a closed door training session today Thursday before having a feel of the match day venue during their captain’s run at the RFUEA Ground on Friday afternoon.
The match anticipated clash will kickoff at 3.00pm, and not 4.00pm as is the norm during the local rugby season. The change in kickoff time has been necessitated by host broadcaster Kwese’s television scheduling. This timing will also apply for the Simbas home clash against Uganda taking place a week later at the same venue.
Meanwhile, Kenya Rugby Union has indicated advance ticket sales for the Kenya -Zimbabwe fixture will close at midnight on Friday 29 June 2018. Regular tickets are Ksh 500 with VIP tickets at Ksh 1500, available on tickets.daitec.co.ke
