Salim asks the match officials to conduct themselves professionally

As Mathare United prepares for the super Sunday match against Sofapaka, Mathare United head coach Salim Ali has called on the match officials to perform their duties in a professional and ethical manner.

Salim, who is the former coach of Sofapaka FC was left complaining about the way in which the officials carried themselves during the match that ended 2-2 against Zoo Kericho on Wednesday. Salim called the responsible authorities to take action on the errant officials.

“The match officials were below par. The center referee and her assistants made poor decisions throughout the contest,” said Salim.

“We played really well, created lots of chances and bossed play like we always want to. But we allowed them back into the game by not burying our chances and we should blame ourselves for the dropped points,” he added.

The South Sudanese striker Daniel Lual was finally on the scoresheet in his 4th appearance. As a result, Salim praised the lad for the spectacular performance he showcased in the pitch.

“There is plenty to come from him. He has been growing with each passing day and his goal was very well taken. It will give him confidence and I expect him to be a regular scorer,” said Salim.

Mathare coach and his boys are looking forward to crashing his former team in order to keep approaching the top tier of the Kenya Premier League. Salim hopes that the presence of Dani Lual in the squad will increase the striking power of the team.
