Sebastien Migne and Football Kenya Federation have mutually decided to have the trainer’s contract terminated.
Since 2018 the Frenchman had been working as the Harambee Stars’ coach. He managed to lead the squad to the recent Africa of Nations.
As one of the best third-placed squads in the group stage, in Egypt, the African country missed out on progressing to the last 16.
Furthermore, 8 days ago, the Africans were excluded from qualifying for next year’s African Nations Championship.
On 4 August, the squad had to leave the tournament for locally-based sportsmen on penalties right after in the two legs of the first round tie with Tanzania they failed to shoot any goal.
Sebastien Migne and the federation have on a settlement for the trainer for a certain period, as the federation representative revealed.
As follows from their statement, they would like to extend their thanks to him for his contribution to the development of the squad as well as high professionalism he demonstrated for the time spent with the squad. They added that he helped them a lot to qualify for the this year’s Afcon tournament that turned out to be the squad’s most impressive outcome for the last 15 years.
The federation added that a new technical bench will be filled soon as the appointment and reorganization process is currently underway. Soon they will reveal who is going to lead the Harambee Stars in the future.
The federation hopes he’ll be lucky in the future endeavors. Now they are all focused on the approaching2021 Afcon qualifiers, hoping to get to the final tournament.
Furthermore, in a group, including Togo, Comoros, and Egypt, Kenya have been drawn for the qualification campaign of the 2021 Nations Cup expected to start in November.
