Preview and Prediction
The North London derby is on schedule this weekend. Yet, neither of them is on the top four this season. In fact, both Spurs and The Gunners are competing for the same target, the Europa League spot, despite their slim chance. Arsenal is on the eighth with 50 points and Spurs are on the nineth with just one-point below their contender. A victory here is certainly important for both.
The teams’ previous matches
Spurs had an unimpressive form and result while travelling to Bournemouth, which is fighting for survival in top tier. They were held in a goalless draw in a match which was dominated by the host. Luckily, Hugo Lloris made several clinical stops at the penalty box to keep the clean sheets.
Arsenal managed to continue their unbeaten record after holding Leicester in a 1-1 draw despite playing with 10 men. Pierre Aubameyang took the lead first. Yet, Jamie Vardy could score an equaliser. Mikel Arteta’s men positive trend endures in the past five games.
Jose Mourinho is likely to deploy the 4-3-3 formation. Harry Kane, Son Heung Min and Steven Bergwijn are the best ones to pick upfront for the starting IX. Unfortunately, Eric Dier and Delle Alli are sidelined due to their injury along with Japhet Tanganga and Juan Foyth. In the midfield, Erik Lamela deserves a chance for the line up to provide more creativity in their attack while Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko or Tanguy Ndombele focus more on the defence. Giovanni Lo Celso can come off the bench for more variations on the offence.
Mikel Arteta is more confident with his 3-4-3 now, which leads to four wins and one draw. Pierre Aubameyang, Alexander Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe are the ideal ones to pick for the line up as Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli are ruled out alongside Mesut Ozil, Callum Chambers, Bernd Leno and Pablo Mari.
Players to watch
Tottenham’s top performers are Harry Kane and Son Heung Min as the main scorer. Both have scored 21 goals and provided 11 assists altogether. Some other key men to watch are Giovanni Lo Celso who is likely to take over Delle Alli’s position, Toby Alderwereild and Harry Winks.
Their counterpart, Arsenal, expects the constant form of the former Dortmund man, Pierre Aubameyang who has netted 20 goals and made two assists in Premier League this season. Some other notable players this season since Arteta is in charge is Dani Ceballos and David Luiz who have been the key men in 3-4-3 formation.
Tottenham vs Arsenal Prediction
This edition’s derby is more vital as three points will make the big difference in their position on the table. Spurs could leapfrog Granit Xhaka and Co, whereas The Gunners can leave Jose Mourinho’s men behind if either of them seal a win. Yet, considering both form lately, a draw is the most reasonable result for both.
There is no clear favourite for this game. Harry Kane and Co are backed to winat 2.45, whereas Arsenal’s odds to win are at 2.80. The draw result is at the value of 3.45
