On most occasions, a UFC fighter is likely to lose a large following when he pulls out of a fight but that was not the case with one Robert Whittaker.
The former UFC middleweight champion was scheduled to take on Jared Cannonier at UFC 248 but pulled out at the very last minute.

The news was quite disappointing to fans but the reason behind immediately erased any ill-feelings towards Whittaker.
As it turns out, the 29-year old plans to donate his bone marrow to his daughter Lilliana who was born in February 2019.
President of the UFC Dana White initially broke the news of Whittaker’s withdrawal but failed to disclose the reason.
“That’s personal for Whittaker. If Whittaker wants to talk about that, he can. But I’ll tell you this, when you talk about somebody whose priorities are in the right place, who is completely selfless and down to the core a good human being, that’s Robert Whittaker,” White said.
The sportsman issued a statement on why he pulled out of the UFC fight as he promised fans he would come back stronger.
“Apologies to all my friends and supporters but unfortunately I won’t be competing on the UFC 248 fight card. There are a few other things going on in my life that I need to give priority to and sort out, so I have had to change my plans. But I’ll be back soon, bigger and better than ever.” he wrote on Instagram.

In one of the biggest fights in UFC history, Whittaker lost his heavyweight belt to Israel Adesanya.
Some of his biggest challenges have been consistent injuries as he had been away from the spotlight for a considerable amount of time before the fight with Adesanya.
