Wendy Achieng rallying call to fans ahead of AWCON qualifier

Harambee Starlets is set to face Equatorial Guinea in the second and final qualifying round of the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations.

The match has been slated for Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos, with the second leg set to be played on June 9, 2018, at the Estadio Nkoantoma de Bata in Equatorial Guinea’s port city of Bata.

Harambee Starlets overcame neighbours Uganda in the first round of the qualifiers with aggregate score of one nil to set up a date with the Equatorial Guinea side.

Speaking ahead of the match captain Wendy Achieng issued a rallying call to fans to come out in large numbers to support the Starlets.

“Morale is high in the camp. I appeal to fans to supports us as this is our opportune moment to make a second appearance at the AWCON,” opined the Starlets fullback.

The match will see fans gain free access to the stadium, in an effort aimed at promoting the women’s game to the Kenyan population.

The match Kicks off at 3.00 pm.
